This is not an exhaustive list of projects/activities – we are always open to new ideas! Recording Secretary | Responsible for recording minutes and meeting attendance at PTA meetings and preparing minutes to be presented for approval at the following meeting. | Ryan Genovese |
Corresponding Secretary | Sends thank you notes to all event sponsors and teachers, get well cards, birthday cards, condolence cards as necessary. | Christy Pine |
After School Activities | 1. TEACHER-LED CLASSES: Identify and work with CCES staff to identify class offerings. Complete administrative tasks necessary for running an after school class (eg.advertising, registration, processing of payments, etc.) 2. Audit Committee | Meet with other audit committee members once during the summer break to go through the Audit process for the previous year and sign off on the accounts. Backpack Bundles | Co-ordinates and leads the program to offer shelf-stable food bundles for students who need supplementary food for weekends and holidays. Liaise with the School Counselor. Manage Amazon wish list and coordinate volunteers for packing bundles. | Lisa Scata Jenny Lease |
Bingo Night | Coordinates Bingo night in the fall- organizes volunteers and staff member mystery callers, purchases refreshments and prizes. | |
Book Fair | Coordinates the Book Fair at CCES. Contacts Scholastic, makes sure Media Center is reserved, sends home information fliers, coordinates volunteers to work at the fair, makes restock orders during the fair, organizes teacher preview night, set-up night, and clean-up night. | Allie McDonald |
Holiday Shop | Books and coordinates vendor for annual Holiday Shop event held in the Music Room – opportunity for students to shop for their families and friends for the holidays. Creates signup genius for volunteers. Event and sign up promoted through Cougar Comments and social media. Oversee night/s of event. | |
International Night | Create/Manage Country sign-up genius. Book external entertainment for the 2nd half of the evening. Coordinate room setup with Principal/Assistant Principal and Custodial Staff. Restaurant Nights | Coordinates fundraising opportunities for PTA through restaurant nights such as Chick fil A, Taharka Bros ice cream, MOD Pizza, Blondie’s Doughnuts, Ice skating at ColorBurst Park in the winter. | Alison Hickman |
Science Fair | Before Spring Break, advertise in Cougar Comments. Create/Manage sign-ups and coordinate room setup with Principal/Assistant Principal and Custodial Staff. Spirit Wear | Coordinates sale of spirit wear including identifying merchandise to be included in sale and working with vendor. This is now totally online – previously included collecting orders and payments, and distributing merchandise. This year could assess changing/keeping online vendor or adding a second option for CCES merch. | |
Spring Carnival | Coordinates annual school carnival which includes securing food/entertainment vendors, purchasing prizes, coordinating games and mobilizing volunteers (parents and local high school students) to run the games. | Tara Bishop Emily Farace |
Staff Appreciation | Coordinates staff appreciation events and activities including, Back to School Breakfast (week before school starts), November and February conference dinners, and teacher appreciation week luncheon/events (early May). Talent Show | Organizes school talent show including creating and distributing flier, sign ups, creating program schedule, advertising event to CCES community, and overseeing activities for a rehearsal and on event night. | Christine Porras |
Trunk or Treat – Fall Family Festival | Organizes the Family Fall Festival – Trunk or Treat, including creating signup genius for ToT participants and donation of additional candy, creating program schedule, and liaises/advertises event to CCES community (Cougar Comments and PTA website). | |
Yearbook | Work with Strawbridge Studios to prepare an annual Yearbook for students. Ideally a staff member for the role of creating the yearbook. A parent volunteer can coordinate sale and distribution of the CCES yearbook. | |
